H-Row is a venue for unique records. Many of these are transcription discs, sometimes called acetates. These were recorded directly to a blank disc; smooth and glossy before and recognizable as a standard grooved record when completed. Reading about Lock-in Radio Tubes from Sylvania to test the equipment. Likely made at the Broadwood Hotel where many professional recordings were made, most notably with the Philadelphia Orchestra and also Nat King Cole. Willard also reads about a wire recorder that he intended to buy.
